When we first got our Riley he was a two-year-old hound dog with several issues common in rescue dogs. Chief among those was separation anxiety so bad he couldn’t be left alone. As this was no way to live we worked hard to train that out of him, but there were other things a young Riley could do that eleven years later are no longer a possibility. When you bring a pet into your home, whether as a youngling or rescue, the pet you first bring home will be one of several.
