Back in the long time ago before covid, we held an annual doggy Easter egg hunt. It was a great time for the dogs and humans as well. We were hoping to renew this tradition this year but that is in danger of not happening. With that in mind I wanted to write about how awesome an enrichment activity the Doggy Easter Egg Hunt is.
A doggy Easter egg hunt is an easy activity to put on in your own backyard or around the house for your dog. It is so simple and my kids and cat are being such jerks this morning that this won’t be a full post.
For a doggy Easter egg hunt you need three things; a refillable egg, a dog, and treats. All you have to do is put a nice smelly treat, we use homemade liver treats, inside a plastic Easter egg, hide it, and let your dog sniff it out, open it up, and eat the treat.
That’s it. It is a very simple thing that you can easily do at home with either homemade or store-bought treats.
